Cytosine, Thymine, and Uracil; Pyrimidine

Cytosine, Thymine, and Uracil (left to right) are referred to as pyrimidine bases because their ring structures are similar to the ring in pyrimidine (far right). Cytosine appears in both DNA and RNA; but Thymine appears only in DNA, and Uracil only in RNA.
